Christian Author on Why Satanists and Witches Celebrate Halloween, and Why Christians Should Not

Witches and Satanists look forward to October 31 of every year because it's the best time for them to practice rituals and uphold the dark arts.

Michael Snyder, author and publisher of the book "End Of The American Dream," wrote in an article for Charisma News that many people simply ignore the dark side of Halloween and enjoy dressing up in costumes and going trick or treating.

"But the truth is that Halloween night is one of the biggest nights of the year for witches, occultists and Satanists," he said. "All over America, those who are deep into the dark arts will contact the dead, cast spells and conduct blood sacrifices."

At the same time, seemingly "innocent" Halloween traditions are seeped in ancient pagan practices. What's worse, these traditions get worse every year as people's morals are compromised.

"Every year the costumes for our young girls become even more sexually suggestive, the horror movies become even more demonic, and the public's fascination with the occult just continues to grow. It truly is a festival of death, but most people don't seem to care. In fact, experts are telling us that Halloween has now become America's second biggest holiday," said Snyder.

Snyder said people might scoff at the idea of witches performing rituals during Halloween, but it's the truth. Black cats are mutilated and blood sacrifices are made just to appease the "dark side."

"You may not want to believe it, but animals will be killed and little children will be abused on Halloween night," he said. When he asked an animal shelter if there really is a spike of people wanting to adopt black cats nearing this day, his question was confirmed.

Snyder added that Satanists consider Halloween as one of the most important "holidays" of the year. Still, there will be some Christians who insist on celebrating Halloween and tell themselves, "It doesn't mean that to me." But Snyder said they are only fooling themselves.

"Could you take a Satanic Black Mass and turn it into a celebration of Jesus?" he said. "Of course not. And yet so many Christians fully embrace Halloween and pretend that there is nothing wrong with it."

Snyder is all for people going to church on October 31, but too often, Christians are distracted by "alternative celebrations" that are nothing more than repackaged versions of the holiday Satanists and witches uphold.

"Setting aside a day to celebrate evil, darkness, witchcraft, fear, death and the demonic brings disdain to God. Period," he stressed. "A Christian celebrating Halloween would be like a Satan worshipper putting up a nativity scene at Christmas while singing, 'Happy Birthday, Jesus!' The two just don't go together. Jesus has nothing in common with Satan, and neither should we."
