The upcoming episode of "Chicago P.D." season 4, "300,000 Likes," will set the stage for Detective Antonio Dawson's (Jon Seda) transition to "Chicago Justice."
A couple of months back, it was announced that Seda will be part of the upcoming NBC spinoff. He will be in the first eight episodes of the current season of "Chicago P.D." before moving over to "Chicago Justice."
The synopsis for "Chicago P.D." season 4 episode 6 teases that Antonio will receive a job offer from the state attorney's office, which should set up his eventual jump.
Antonio will be an investigator in "Chicago Justice," where he will closely work with Lori Nagle (Joelle Carter). As fans know, the character got his start in "Chicago Fire" as the second in command of the Intelligence Unit of the police department.
Speaking about his transition from "Chicago P.D." season 4 to "Chicago Justice," Seda told TV Line that his character will receive a promotion.
"He's still a cop. He loves being a Chicago cop, and that's something that he's always wanted to be. So that's going to factor in. But moving over to the State's Attorney's office and being a lead investigator, he has his own unit there," the actor explained.
"He still gets to bring down the bad guys and help his city, just on a wider range because he'll now have state-wide jurisdiction, which he didn't have before. It's a different place. It's something that he has to get used to," he went on to say.
Although Antonio will be leaving "Chicago P.D." season 4, Seda said that there is still a possibility his character will return to the said series.
He said that they will all "still be seeing each other" and that the crossovers of the "Chicago" series will definitely make that happen. Antonio also pops in and out in "Chicago Fire" due to his romantic relationship with Killmer (Sylvie Brett).
"Chicago P.D." season 4 episode 6, "300,000 Likes" airs on Wednesday, Nov. 9, at 10 p.m. ET on NBC.
