Based on the synopsis for "Boruto: Naruto Next Generations" episode 54, the fans will see more interactions between Naruto's closest rival and his eldest son. To recap the previous episode, Boruto wanted to prove that he is a lot stronger than his father. He believes that Sasuke can train him to surpass his father's skills, and out of all people, Sasuke is the only one who knows how to beat Naruto.

Meanwhile, the previous episode of "Boruto: Naruto Next Generations" also featured a familiar character from the manga. In one particular scene, Katasuku was turned down by Naruto in his request to use his scientific tools in the upcoming Chunin exam.

As Katasuku returned to his lab, a cloaked figure appeared and approached him. While the main features of the person are covered, manga readers would know that this is none other than Kashin Koji, a known villain in "Boruto" manga series, and member of a criminal organization known as Kara.

Per Comic Book, the role that Kashin Koji will play in the current story arc of "Boruto: Naruto Next Generations" is still uncertain, although some fans believe that his appearance in the anime version is still quite early. Nevertheless, this is an exciting teaser of the things to come in the series after the Chunin examinations arc.

Going back to this week's upcoming episode, the viewers can expect to know more about the new threat in town, Urashiki Otsutsuki. The previous episode saw Urashiki's face-off with Toneri, and episode 54 is expected to see the villain inching closer to Naruto's location as he aims to use the tailed beasts in his quest to conquer the world.

"Boruto: Naruto Next Generations" episode 54 will air in Japan on Thursday, April 18.
