There are only a few months left before the much-awaited comeback of the worldwide hit anime series "Attack on Titan." A third season will pick up right after the events of the previous chapter, which will focus on the climax of the great war between humans and the flesh-eating titans. After it was revealed that there are more titan shifters other than the anime's lead protagonist, Eren, there has been a huge shake-up in the human government. Per the latest reports, "Attack on Titan" season 3 will be centered on an interesting storyline from the manga.
In an interview with "Attack on Titan" season 3 creator Hajime Isayama, the next storyline to be featured in the anime will be the Uprising arc. Isayama mentioned that there will be some changes on how the original storyline from the manga will be translated to the anime version, particularly between the manga issue's volumes 13 to 16. He found the outcome of these volumes to be rather disappointing, so Isayama is hoping that there will be some improvements when the story is introduced in "Attack on Titan" anime.
"After writing Volume 12, in the period between 13 and 16 was when I felt the most disappointed with my work," Isayama said. "Hopefully, now that season 3 is being made, I'll have the chance to wipe away that regret and replace it with something I'm proud of." This portion of the manga deals with the revolution among the pack of survivors as it was revealed that the current royal family governing the humans are actually titan shifters.
The Uprising storyline in "Attack on Titan" season 3 is expected to include a handful of brutal scenes, just like in the manga version. However, there are speculations that the violent sequences in the third season will be watered down, now that the anime series is handled by a different television network in Japan, NHK. However, "Attack on Titan" season 3 director Koizuka Masashi downplayed these reports, saying that the shift to NHK will not affect the contents of the anime.
"Attack on Titan" season 3 is set to premiere in Japan this July.
