It seems Green Arrow (Stephen Amell) will prefer to fly solo in his show "Arrow" in the CW, as the executive producer of the show has confirmed that none of the members of the Justice League will appear in the television (TV) series.
Marc Guggenheim, the executive producer in question, has revealed that despite the numerous easter eggs and name drops or references to other characters in the DC universe, no such big crossover is being planned. He admitted that they were just being fans of the franchise, hence the hints and nods to other big names of DC.
"No, I love a good Easter egg, and I love doing the occasional name drop. You know, we name-dropped Hal Jordan at the beginning of Season 3, but it's really just fun for us. I think in the Arrowverse we have our own Justice League and the Green Lantern, Wonder Woman, Batman... these are all characters that are either spoken for on the movie side and/or other shows," said Guggenheim.
He further added, "Over here on the CW, we're sort of a mischievous lot, and we enjoy the occasional Easter egg. And our partners at DC are very tolerant of our mischief. But that's really all it is. Just good nature, good fanboy mischief."
This means that the idea of Batman, Green Lantern, or even the Man of Steel, himself, visiting Oliver Queen a.k.a. Green Arrow is quite remote. Fans should then curb whatever hype they may have built up for a non-existent crossover or guest appearance since the most that they will be getting is a name drop or easter egg.
Still, this does not mean that the other big members of the Justice League will not have their own shows since The Flash, a Justice League regular, actually has his own series on the same channel as "Arrow." Right now though, there are no plans for a live-action TV series for any other Justice League members.
"Arrow" will return on the CW on Thursday, Jan. 18, at 9 p.m. EST.
