While everyone is anticipating the premiere of "Justice League" in a few weeks' time, there is also some excitement gearing up towards the premiere of another solo outing for one of the league's members. The "Aquaman" movie has recently announced that they have finished filming, and is now moving forward to post production.
Jason Momoa, who plays the titular character, and Amber Heard, who plays Mera, both announced that the film has completed production. The stars shared wrap photos celebrating the last few months of filming the DC Extended Universe movie. Momoa shared a photo of him and Heard on Instagram, thanking her for her work and Australia for allowing them to film there. Heard also shared a similar photo with Momoa on her Instagram, thanking him as well for his work.
The "Aquaman" movie was previously described to be like Star Wars, only set underwater. Director James Wan also promised that fans can expect a "swashbuckling action-adventure" ahead for the Atlantean King.
Momoa also revealed that the character's solo movie will be able to tell his complete origin. He also shared that fans will be able to see a younger Arthur Curry a.k.a. Aquaman in the movie. "It's the whole origin story, for sure. You'll see young Arthur and everything. It goes from before he was born, it's the whole mythology of it. It's unbelievable where we start in this movie, and where we end up," said Momoa.
Along with Aquaman's origin, the movie will also explore the history of the hero's world under the sea. Momoa revealed that there are so many cool worlds that the audience will be able to see in the movie, and that the hero will definitely go on a big adventure and sort of take the audience with him as well.
"Aquaman" will premiere on Dec. 21, 2018, but the titular character will be making his first appearance in "Justice League," which comes out on Nov. 17.
