Answers in Genesis tackles question on what came first: Knowledge of God or morality?

What came first: Knowledge of God or morality? Answers in Genesis founder Ken Ham says evolutionists have puzzled over this question for years, but Christians thankfully have a "different starting point" to better answer this question.

He then shared an article written by Frost Smith on his Facebook page, who says that there is no morality without God. However, Frost says the issue of morality is tied up in many concepts.

Evolutionists believe that man evolved from animals, some of which are able to exhibit empathy and altruism. But Frost argues, "Why would there be any need to be altruistic or even generous if other humans had no more value than other animals competing for resources? Even if it were for 'feel-good' chemicals, why should it feel good?"

He says that it's because God's Word is "the basis for all moral codes—whether people realise it or not"—and this is why even atheists have a moral code. Frost says it's "an ironic testament to the image of the God that they deny."

"Mankind's continued attempts to deny the God of the Bible—the very source for the basis of what we call morality and humanity—have been unsatisfactory even to those who deny Him, as evidenced by lack of consensus and fully satisfying explanations of what is a complex issue in their eyes," Frost says.

He then touches upon the story of Adam and Eve, Noah, Abraham, and Moses. Frost says God never left His people without a witness and direction. "God and the one true religious worship of Him are no mystery. We need no hypotheses to determine how man came to be conscious of himself and others, when we began to acknowledge God, or when we began to practice worship," he says.
