5 Bible verses if you're feeling alone during the New Year

New Year's Eve could be the most festive time of the year for many, but for some it could be the loneliest. Some people celebrate the coming of the new year away from home, or even just by themselves.

Some of us may be surrounded by people, and yet we feel lonely. Loneliness is felt not only in the absence of people around us - it can also be felt when the people around us are not for us. It actually feels lonelier when the people around you don't give you any attention.

Regardless of your situation, whether you'll be alone this New Year, or you just feel lonely even with the people around you, I want you to know that God loves you. I want to encourage you.

Here are some Bible verses for you to keep you company when you are alone or lonely during the New Year.

God rejoices over you - Zephaniah 3:17

"The Lord your God in your midst, the Mighty One, will save; He will rejoice over you with gladness, He will quiet you with His love, He will rejoice over you with singing."

God comforts you - Psalm 94:17-19

"Unless the Lord had been my help, my soul would soon have settled in silence. If I say, "My foot slips," Your mercy, O Lord, will hold me up. In the multitude of my anxieties within me, Your comforts delight my soul."

God's love can never be separated from you - Romans 8:35-39

"Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? As it is written:

"For Your sake we are killed all day long; We are accounted as sheep for the slaughter."

Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us. For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord."

Christ promised to be with you as you obey Him - Matthew 28:18-20

"And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, "All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age." Amen."

God will never abandon you - Hebrews 13:5-6

"Let your conduct be without covetousness; be content with such things as you have. For He Himself has said, "I will never leave you nor forsake you." So we may boldly say:

"The Lord is my helper; I will not fear. What can man do to me?""
