3 things millennials should know about God's will

Millennials are losing sight of their faith and consequently the purpose they have in Christ. According to a study by Pew Research Center, 36 percent of younger millennials do not affiliate with any religious sector. People in their 20s are leaving churches in droves, but that's not to say that they don't need or strive for the will of God in their lives.

If there's anything that millennials need to hear today, it is that God has a plan for their life and that God loves them more than ever, regardless of whether they are aware of it or not.

Author and marketing professional Hannah Becker refers to millennials as the "purpose-driven generation" as majority of them strive for meaning and significance at work. What many of them need to know is that God has a plan to make them meaningful and significant in this world today.

Here are three things that millennials need to know about God's will for them.

It is progressive

It may not seem like it, but God is working through the life of every individual today. The overall goal is to bring all people to Him so that they might experience life and meaning in Him.

We may think that we don't matter today, and maybe we don't yet, but we have the rest of our lives to make an impact. If you don't feel like God is using you to your maximum potential yet, take this time to learn, nurture and prepare for God's greater plans.

It is bigger than one person

When God called Jeremiah in Jeremiah 1:5, he called him to be a "prophet to the nations." We may think that our plans are as big as our won backyard, but God has bigger plans for you than you think.

When God makes all things work, He makes all things work for the good of those who have been called into his purpose and that's more than just one person. God calls us to think big because He thinks big.

It involves sacrifice

Jesus said in Matthew 16:24, "If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross and follow me." No one ever said that purpose would be easy and costless.

But God also promises that He has already won it all and paid for the ultimate price on the cross, not just so that we would be free from sin, but also so that we would be free to pursue our purpose.
