3 Bible verses that sum up what Christ's resurrection does for us

Christ's resurrection does so much more than just give us hope for eternal life. It actually gives us hope and a renewed strength for our daily lives while we're here on earth.

Many of God's faithful followers were empowered to live lives that were beyond the ordinary. These men and women lived exemplary lives as they trusted and hoped in the risen Lord Jesus Christ:

  • Paul lived a missionary life, preaching the Gospel everywhere he went while earning a living to provide for himself and the people who were with him.
  • Priscilla and Aquila, a couple who spent time with Paul, served the Lord together and were inseparable. They worked to earn a living together, worked in the Kingdom together, and lived as an example to all Christian couples everywhere.
  • Peter, despite having denied Christ thrice, became the church's leader in obedience to Christ. He was martyred for His faith in Christ.

If these people were so willing to do what they have done all because they had seen the Lord Jesus Christ resurrected, or at least believed that He had risen from the dead as He said, then we ought to realize that we too can live extraordinary lives for Christ simply because He has resurrected.

Living extraordinary lives

Want to live and extraordinary life to the glory of God? Christ's resurrection enables us to do that. Here are a few Bible verses that tell us what Christ's resurrection does for us.

2 Corinthians 5:14-19

"For the love of Christ compels us, because we judge thus: that if One died for all, then all died; and He died for all, that those who live should live no longer for themselves, but for Him who died for them and rose again. Therefore, from now on, we regard no one according to the flesh. Even though we have known Christ according to the flesh, yet now we know Him thus no longer. Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new. Now all things are of God, who has reconciled us to Himself through Jesus Christ, and has given us the ministry of reconciliation, that is, that God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself, not imputing their trespasses to them, and has committed to us the word of reconciliation."

Romans 8:11-17

"But if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, He who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit who dwells in you. Therefore, brethren, we are debtors—not to the flesh, to live according to the flesh. For if you live according to the flesh you will die; but if by the Spirit you put to death the deeds of the body, you will live. For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God. For you did not receive the spirit of bondage again to fear, but you received the Spirit of adoption by whom we cry out, "Abba, Father." The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God, and if children, then heirs—heirs of God and joint heirs with Christ, if indeed we suffer with Him, that we may also be glorified together."

2 Corinthians 5:21

"For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him."
